LUCKY No. 55

Our Lucky No. 55 Celebration promises to be a fun-filled gathering full of food, laughter, games and dancing. Our goal is to raise 50 000$ with this event which will support of our beloved gym!

For close to 14 years our gym has been a place of community gathering and joy. The gym has endured thousands of hours of pounding running shoes, parent gatherings, Christmas concerts, assemblies, graduations and much, much, more. However, it is starting to show its age with some wear and tear. Since it is where our Sion family gathers, we wish to give the gym a new floor, paint new lines, put our EBNDS logo in the center of the gym and display our team name.

So, please, come out and support this Win-Win event. You will have a great evening, and the students of EBNDS will continue to have hours of sheer fun in their much loved, and needed gym!

Class of Kindergartens 2018

Class of Kindergartens 2018

Our first school assembly was a chance to welcome our new Kindergarteners to the Sion Family!  As has become our tradition, the grade six students walked into the gym with the kindergarten students. After the assembly, all the classes picked up their apples, Challah bread, and honey to help kick off a Sweet New Year of learning!

We celebrated Rosh Hashanah this past September…

We celebrated Rosh Hashanah this past September…

As has been our tradition for many years, our school once again celebrated Rosh Hashanah with apples, honey, and Challah.
As we gathered in the gym, our school principal, Mrs. Goetz, reminded us about the importance of having a sweet new year. We reflected upon the idea that our actions have consequences. Education gives us the tools to become better at what we do each and every day, and for the rest of our lives. Of importance is that we must say sorry when we have caused harm to others, and then we must work towards reconciliation. Each day, we promise to do our best. By doing so, we become our best!
At the end of the assembly, each class left with their honey, apples, and bread to have a wonderful celebration in their classrooms…

Following the launch of our new logo, we are proud to announce that the new uniforms for 2018-2019 have arrived. Come to the office to feel the quality of material and view the new vest being introduced. You will soon be able to purchase the items from Top Marks website.

EBNDS has just completed their first ever “Mindfulness Project”. The students had lessons regarding mindfulness, and embraced the project through a variety of activities. Some of them being yoga, meditation, and breathing. We would like to thank Mrs. Kitembo for helping us with this fantastic project and allowing the students, staff, and parents to enjoy her Yoga expertise.

Ce projet a su inspiré notre communauté: personnel de l’école, élèves et parents ont appréciés prendre le temps de vivre le moment présent. Nous sommes convaincus que la pleine conscience aura dorénavant sa place à EBNDS!
